As today marks the 5th year anniversary of the grand opening of Peper Lofts, we’d love to take a look at where it all started…
Built by the Christian Peper Tobacco Company at the end of the 19th century, the structure was a testament to St. Louis’ role in a booming tobacco industry. The six-story warehouse was intended to store tobacco products and provide ample space for an agency dedicated to moving the region forward and connecting a larger community.
Such a rich history of progress and connections can only lead to greater opportunity for the residents of – and the community surrounding – the Christian Peper building. We’re excited to continue the growing community down at Laclede’s Landing, from the new generation of residents to the new commercial spots coming to life! This historic building has come so far; so have we these last 5 years, and it’s only just the beginning!
